PAINT THE TOWN READ: Essays at the Ralph Waldo Emerson House in Concord, Massachusetts

This is my first Paint the Town Read photo with Gideon, my Kindle Paperwhite, where most of my free classics are stored. Our day at Concord fell on the Columbus Day holiday, which meant that a lot of things were closed, including the Ralph Waldo Emerson House, but I was happy just to see it.

IMG_5104Concord is a picturesque little town, and it reminds me of Stars Hollow from The Gilmore Girls. As we walked past on our way to Orchard House and The Wayside, a man had set up an easel and was painting a picture of the beautiful old house in all its autumn glory.

You can see more Paint the Town Read posts as they’re uploaded on my Instagram account with the hashtag #caapaintthetownread.
