This is easily the most popular statue I saw in Central Park. Alice’s lap is clearly prime real estate and kids were almost coming to blows over it. One of the older girls was even trying to shove little kids off so her mother could take photos.
Circling the statues are various quotes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and a dedication to Margarita Delacorte, whose husband George commissioned the sculpture. There are also other less impressive places to sit, like with the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, or on some enormous mushrooms.
