LITERARY LOCATION: The Book Grocer on Russell Street in Melbourne, Victoria

Exactly how am I supposed to walk past a bookstore with a gigantic sign that says ‘ALL BOOKS $10’? The answer: I do not know and I do not care because I won’t do it.

The Book Grocer first opened in the ACT in 2000 and, since then, has expanded to include stores in New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. It’s going to be really dangerous for my bank account if they ever decide to open up a store in Queensland, I assure you.

You won’t necessarily find the newest releases on these shelves, but you will find some awesome and popular books scattered throughout the sections.

Like The Bone Season and The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon, which I see all over the internet and desperately want to read.

Just in case you didn’t trust the sign at the front of the store, all of the books are $10. Unless they’re part of the Basement Bargains or Crazy Deals, in which case they are even cheaper.

Go and find your nearest branch of The Book Grocer and check it out. You know you want to.
