#AmpersandNov16

Welcome to my November book photo challenge! Join me on Instagram for a fun month of book photography, or play along here on WordPress or on Tumblr or Bloglovin’! Just let me know which platform you’re on so I can come and stalk your pictures 🙂

Want to know more about the prompts? Everything is explained here. Just remember, these explanations are for inspiration or guidance. You can interpret any of the prompts however you choose.

  1. Author: Today is Authors’ Day and it’s also the very first day of NaNoWriMo, if you’re participating! Post about your favourite author or a piece that you’re writing.
  2. Brick: Those fat books with which you could probably kill a human. Or actual bricks with books.
  3. Cliché: Celebrate Cliché Day with some of your favourites!
  4. Neon: I will not quote John Mayer. I will not quote John Mayer. I will not quote John Mayer. Just neon colours, okay?
  5. Fireworks: Remember, remember, the fifth of November. The day on which you could post about Guy Fawkes, regular fireworks or fireworks of the romantic kind.
  6. Hype: Good hype? Bad hype? Hype person to a musician? All welcome.
  7. Fingertip: Balance something on your fingertip! Warning: this may result in hilarity and/or injury.
  8. Leader: So the U.S. presidential election is terrifying and I’m very glad that I’m not part of it. Let’s focus on some awesome leaders in literature.
  9. Bold: A person, a mood, a choice or some lettering.
  10. Document: Definitely do not post your bank statements because that could end SO badly oh my gosh. Think epistolary novels (books made up of letters, etc.).
  11. Lady: Nasty ladies, nice ladies, lords and ladies.
  12. HeartMake a shape out of your books! Or have a whole bunch of books that broke your heart/made your heart go pitter-patter, etc.
  13. Brood: Attractive brooding types. And if you don’t enjoy brooding types, focus on someone’s brood (technically animal children but also human children).
  14. Truth: An unpopular opinion/a book about the importance of truth.
  15. Lie: That little white lie you always tell about your reading habits/an unreliable narrator/a book with a lot of lies and secrets.
  16. Mirror: I just really love fun mirror photos. Play with reflections!
  17. Fantastic: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is released today in Australian cinemas! I think it’s a day later for a lot of other places but WHATEVER. Celebrate! If you’re not interested in this movie, you can also post about a book that you think is fantastic.
  18. Blurb: Your favourite book blurb. Or make up a totally new blurb about a book you love OR a book you’ve never read but have heard a lot about.
  19. Open: I’m an open book. You’re an open book. WE’RE ALL OPEN BOOKS.
  20. Closed: Books, cases, doors, etc.
  21. Who: Your favourite character/author or a little bit about yourself.
  22. What: Your favourite book/series or a book that made you ask, ‘Wait, what??’.
  23. When: Your favourite time period to read about (past, present, future) or when you like to read.
  24. Where: Your favourite book setting or where you like to read.
  25. Why: Why you love to read, why you love/hate a particular book/character, or a plot point/cliffhanger that made you wail, ‘WHYYYYYY?’
  26. Phone: A #bookthroughphone picture, or something else relating to a phone.
  27. Paint: Get creative! Paint that picture of yourself slaying your enemies/riding a noble steed. Or characters who love to paint.
  28. Illustration: More and more illustrated books are being released and I love it! Show off your favourite.
  29. Recreate: Recreate your favourite book cover!
  30. Wrap-up: What books did you read this month?

There we have it! I hope you can join me for the #AmpersandNov16 challenge! Let me know that you’re participating by commenting/reblogging so I can check out your photos!
