UNBOXING: The Melting Library Beauty and the Beast samplers

If you’ve known me for longer than a day, you will most likely be aware of my obsession with bookish candles. Combine that with a love for Disney and The Melting Library’s Beauty and the Beast candle samplers box was my dream come true.

The box included six sample-sized candles, as well as some special Be Our Guest tea, a Tale as Old as Time bookmark, and a recipe for the Grey Stuff cupcakes. I’m not actually sure I can make the cupcakes since some of the ingredients seem to be specific to the US but WHO KNOWS?

First up, we have the Enchanted Rose candle! It smells like garden rose, sandalwood and musk and look. how. PRETTY. IT has little roses and glitter and oh my goodness it smells so good. I love floral scents in candles and roses are just heaven.

Belle’s Books came with a little… I don’t even know what to call this thing. I have a word for it in my head but I guarantee it’s not what it’s supposed to be called. It sits on top of the candle, with a hole for the wick, and it has a little excerpt from Beauty and the Beast on it.

The candle itself smells like leather, parchment and tulips and I cannot even begin to tell you how accurate this scent is. It really, REALLY does smell like parchment. It’s not my favourite scent in general, but I give it A+ for accuracy.

Something There smells like snow, juniper berry and violet. And you can’t really see it in this photo but it has glitter in it. There was glitter ON it previously, but it kind of glitter-bombed me when I first opened it so most of it’s gone. I love that little surprise!

Provincial Life smells like freshly-baked bread, thyme and French lavender. While I can detect hints of the other scents, the lavender is definitely the strongest note and I love it. I also love that you can see little grains of it inside the wax!

The West Wing candle smells like mahogany, rain and smoke and it’s just the perfect masculine, comforting scent.

Last but not least, there’s Tea with Mrs Potts! It smells like Earl Grey, ginger root, apple and cinnamon. It’s a beautifully light scent that complements the Be Our Guest tea—Ceylon black tea with rose petals.

This was such a beautiful box of candles and I’m so glad I ordered it! If you’re interested in more bookish candles, check out The Melting Library and maybe try out their next monthly sampler box!
