Join me for my November 2018 book photo challenge!

Join me for my November 2018 book photo challenge!

Welcome to my November photo challenge! This year, all my monthly Instagram challenges will be going under the hashtag #Ampersand2018, though I’ll be creating prompts for each month as usual.

I’ve given ideas for each prompt below, but you can interpret them however you choose! Don’t forget to check out my tips for conquering a book photo challenge!

  1. Project: A project you’re working on at the moment. It might be NaNoWriMo, or a book you’re trying to get through, or a bigger reading goal you’ve set for yourself.
  2. Choice: What book will you be choosing to read next?
  3. Latest: The latest book you’ve finished or purchased.
  4. Back: Outlander is back on TV! Post a themed photo, or focus on some back-cover art on any other book.
  5. Plot: Remember, remember the fifth of November, the Gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why we should have any other prompt for Guy Fawkes Night! Your favourite book plots.
  6. Race: Action-packed books.
  7. Difficult: Hard-to-find editions, or a book you struggled to get through.
  8. Tears: Books that made you cry.
  9. Freedom: Celebrate World Freedom Day with some books that focus on the theme of freedom.
  10. Stack: Time for some #stacksaturday love!
  11. Eleven: The eleventh book in a series, a collection of eleven books, books you read when you were eleven, etc.
  12. Trope: Your favourite or least favourite bookish tropes.
  13. Kind: Focus on kind characters for World Kindness Day.
  14. Complete: A complete series.
  15. Again: A book you want to reread/try again if you couldn’t get through it.
  16. Fandom: Fantastic Beasts 2 is finally here! Celebrate with a photo from your favourite fandom.
  17. Fuel: Coffee, tea, or whatever keeps you going when you’re reading.
  18. Shelves: Stop, drop and shelfie! Post a photo of your bookshelves. Or bookshelves at a bookstore. Or bookshelves in someone else’s house. Probably get permission for that, though. I am not encouraging breaking and entering.
  19. Hype: A highly-anticipated 2018 release.
  20. Symbol: Books with symbols on the cover.
  21. Watch: Your favourite book-to-TV adaptations for World Television Day.
  22. Thanks: Happy Thanksgiving, Americans! For the rest of us, I reckon we can just post a photo celebrating a book (or bookstagram buddy) we’re thankful for.
  23. Black: Black books!
  24. Secret: Secretive/mysterious characters.
  25. Key: The key to your heart—what makes you pick up a book?
  26. Foil: Books with foil accents (e.g. Throne of Glass, The Boneless Mercies, Invictus, Caraval)
  27. Now: Your current read, or a check-in on the project you were working on at the beginning of the month.
  28. Next: Your next read, or the next goal you’re working towards.
  29. Move: A book that moved you.
  30. Wrap-up: What books did you read this month?

I hope you can join me for #Ampersand2018 on Instagram! Don’t forget to use the hashtag in your posts so I can check out your photos!
